Clasp Care
Due to the properties of precious metals, the tension of the clasp may loosen or tighten with regular use or if snagged. If adjustment is needed, gently squeeze or open the clasp with your fingers or a fingernail. Note that repeated opening and closing may cause metal fatigue over time — adjust only when necessary.

At SMUK, we use four types of plating finishes, each selected to suit the design and materials of the piece.
Rhodium Plating — A rare platinum-group metal. Tarnish and scratch resistant, with a bright, clear silver tone. Gentle on sensitive skin.
18K Gold Plating — 75% fine gold over sterling silver. Warm, deep gold color that flatters all skin tones.
14K White Gold Plating — 58.3% fine gold with a soft, cool white tone. Pairs beautifully with pearls and delicate designs.
Gold Vermeil — Sterling silver (925) base with a gold layer 2.5+ microns thick. More durable than standard plating with a longer-lasting shine.
