About SMUK Jewellery

Every piece of SMUK jewellery is built on a foundation of sterling silver 925 or solid gold. Our commitment to material quality — and to jewellery you can wear with confidence — starts at the base.

Pure Silver & Pure Gold at the Core

Diagram comparing sterling silver and solid gold against other materials — metal allergy conscious design

All SMUK jewellery is built on a base of sterling silver 925 or solid gold. Whether a piece features white gold, rhodium, 18K gold plating, or 14K solid gold, the inner core is always pure silver. This applies across the entire range without exception.

  • Thoughtfully allergy-conscious — Because the base material in contact with your skin is sterling silver, the risk of reactions from nickel, brass, or other reactive metals is minimised at the material level
  • Durability built for long-term wear — A sterling silver base is more resistant to tarnish and degradation than common alloy bases, helping jewellery maintain its beauty over time
  • Transparency in materials — SMUK uses only materials with clearly defined composition, so you always know exactly what your jewellery is made of
No Compromise on Base Material

SMUK does not carry any jewellery made with brass, surgical stainless steel (316L), or other non-silver, non-gold base materials. Our commitment to material quality is absolute.

Plated & Coated Products

SMUK offers jewellery with white gold, K14/K18 gold, and rhodium coatings — but in every case, the base material is sterling silver 925. The coating changes the surface finish, enhancing the appearance and helping to prevent tarnishing, while the silver foundation remains unchanged beneath.

The finish may change.
The integrity of the base does not.

I White Gold / Rhodium

A white gold or rhodium coating is applied over sterling silver, giving the piece a bright, platinum-like finish. This coating helps resist tarnishing and gives the jewellery a cleaner, cooler tone. Ideal for those who prefer a silvery-white appearance with added protection.

II K14 / K18 Gold Coating

14K or 18K gold is applied as a coating over a sterling silver base, combining the warmth of gold with the reassurance of a pure silver foundation. The purity and thickness of the coating are carefully considered at every stage of production.

18K Gold Plated & 14K Solid Gold

I 18K Gold Plated

18K gold is applied as a coating over a sterling silver base. This gives the piece the warmth and brilliance of gold while keeping it accessible — and the sterling silver foundation means the piece is thoughtfully designed for the skin it touches.

A beautiful choice for those who want to wear gold every day, with the confidence that comes from knowing the base material.

II 14K Solid Gold

The entire piece is made of 14K solid gold — more durable than pure gold, and designed for genuine everyday wear. Because there is no coating to wear away, tarnishing and peeling are not concerns.

For those who want to wear the same piece for years and decades, 14K solid gold is a choice built to last.
