SMUK Jewellery Materials | Honest Craft on Silver & Gold

Brand

SMUK Jewellery

Every piece of SMUK jewellery is built on a foundation of silver or gold. A quiet commitment to material quality, and to pieces that can be worn safely for years to come — this is where SMUK begins.

Built on Silver 925 & Gold

Silver 925 and gold compared with other materials — hypoallergenic jewellery guide

Every piece of SMUK jewellery is built on Silver 925 (Sterling Silver 925) or solid gold. Even pieces finished with white gold, rhodium, 18K gold plating, or 14K solid gold — the base, the part closest to your skin, is always Silver 925.

  • Made with sensitive skin in mind — Because the base touching your skin is Silver 925, the risk of nickel or brass allergies is kept to a minimum.
  • Built to be worn for years — A Silver 925 base resists tarnish and wear far better than common alloy bases, holding its beauty over time.
  • Honest about what's inside — We use only materials whose composition is clear, delivering jewellery that's transparent about what it's made of.
No Compromise on Base Material

We don't carry pieces made with brass, surgical steel (316L), or any material outside Silver 925 and gold. Our care for material quality and your peace of mind goes all the way through.

On Plated & Coated Pieces

SMUK also offers pieces finished with white gold, K14/K18 gold, and rhodium plating — but the base material, in every single one, is Silver 925.

Plating adds brilliance and helps prevent tarnish, but the Silver 925 underneath stays the same. The finish may vary, but the honesty of the material closest to your skin never changes.

The surface may change,
but the Silver 925 underneath does not.

I White Gold / Rhodium

A coating of white gold or rhodium over a Silver 925 base. The finish brings a clear, platinum-like shine and helps prevent tarnish — a quiet choice for those who prefer a brighter, whiter look, or who worry about silver patina over time.

II K14 / K18 Gold Coating

A coating of 14K or 18K gold over a Silver 925 base. The warm glow of gold, paired with the quiet reassurance of Silver 925 underneath. Designed with careful attention to coating thickness and purity.

18K Gold Plated & 14K Solid Gold

I 18K Gold Plated

Jewellery finished with 18K gold plating over a Silver 925 base. An accessible way to enjoy the brilliance of gold, with a quietly elevated feel. The Silver 925 base is designed to resist tarnish and flaking.

For those who want to bring the warmth of gold into everyday life — held up by the reassurance of a Silver 925 base.

II 14K Solid Gold

Jewellery made entirely of 14K solid gold. More durable than 24K, with designs made for everyday wear. Because the piece is solid gold throughout, there's no plating to wear off, and no worry of tarnish.

For those who want to wear the same piece for years, or quietly weave gold into their daily style.
