A Clear Blue Stone Named for "Sea Water"
Aquamarine takes its name from its beautiful blue — "sea water" (aqua = water, marina = sea). A variety of the mineral beryl, it owes its soft blue, like a clear sky or shallow sea, to a trace of iron.
Held to the light, it seems to clear from the inside out. It never asserts itself loudly — yet it quietly settles even the air around the person who wears it.

A Sailor's Charm, and a "Stone of Peace"
In ancient Rome, aquamarine was seen as a gift from the goddess of the sea, treasured by sailors as a charm for safe voyages. It was believed to calm rough seas and bring travellers safely home.
In medieval Europe, it was also cherished as a "stone of peace," said to settle conflict and deepen the bond between partners. Across the centuries, its clear blue has stayed close to the human heart.
