What Is a Huggie?
A huggie is a style of hoop earring designed to sit close to the earlobe rather than hanging away from it. Smaller in scale than a standard hoop, it fits snugly and stays in place through movement. Fit may vary slightly from person to person. For those who prefer a more open hoop profile, the full hoop collection offers a range of alternatives with the same one-touch ease.
Clasp Care
Due to the nature of precious metals, the clasp tension may loosen or tighten if subject to catching or pressure. As tension sensitivity varies from person to person, minor adjustments can be made by gently pinching the clasp with your fingers or opening it slightly with a fingernail. Please note that repeatedly opening and closing the clasp may cause metal fatigue over time.

At SMUK, we use four types of plating finishes, each selected to suit the design and materials of the piece.
Rhodium Plating — A rare platinum-group metal. Tarnish and scratch resistant, with a bright, clear silver tone. Gentle on sensitive skin.
18K Gold Plating — 75% fine gold over sterling silver. Warm, deep gold color that flatters all skin tones.
14K White Gold Plating — 58.3% fine gold with a soft, cool white tone. Pairs beautifully with pearls and delicate designs.
Gold Vermeil — Sterling silver (925) base with a gold layer 2.5+ microns thick. More durable than standard plating with a longer-lasting shine.
